    Raipur, / More than 1 lakh 81 thousand women in Chhattisgarh have filled forms on the first day of registration for Mahtari Vandan Yojana. This scheme has been launched by Chhattisgarh Government with an aim to promote women empowerment. Women across the state are rushing to register as beneficiaries of Mahtari Vandan Yojana and avail the financial aid to be provided under the scheme. Today, more than 13 thousand applications were received in Raipur district, while in tribal areas of the state like Sukma, 1592 women filled applications on the very first day.

    District administration has made proper arrangements to make it convenient for women to complete the process of registration. All the District Collectors had taken a meeting of officials in their respective district. In these meeetings, the officials concerned were directed to ensure that the procedure of collecting application forms should be completed in minimum time. Administration has appointed employees to explain the eligibility norms to the applicants. Moreover, employees have also been deployed to guide the applicants regarding the documents required at the time of application, to ensure that the application is duly completed and there is no problem in scrutiny.

    Lomeshwari Ojha, a resident of Rudri in Dhamtari, who had come to fill the form for the scheme, said that the financial aid provided under this scheme would help her meet her needs and also the needs of her children. Savita Sahu of Raipur told that she spends the money received as gifts from her parents during Teej Tihaar as per her wish. And the financial aid under Mahtari Vandan Yojana seems like a gift from brother Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion of Teej.

    Teejbai Kamar of Special Backward Tribe of Baldakchhar of Kasdol development block told that she has filled the application form and submitted it at the Anganbadi center. She said that she works as a labourer and the finacial aid under Mahtari Vandan Yojana will ease the financial burden on her to certain extent.

    The number of applications received in various districts of the state on the first day of registration are as follows- 3226 from Balod, 523 from Balodabazar, 783 from Balrampur, 12503 from Bastar, 3863 from Bemetara, 710 from Bijapur, 9329 from Bilaspur, 3980 from Dantewada, 3682 from Dhamtari, Durg. 13997, 3723 from Gariaband, 20186 from Janjgir, 5367 from Jashpur, 2441 from Kanker, 5796 from Kawardha, 6836 from Kondagaon, 5101 from Korba, 2035 from Koriya, 7040 from Mahasamund, 3263 from Mungeli, 406 from Narayanpur, 15 from Raigarh. 30 , 13155 from Raipur, 8403 from Rajnandgaon, 1089 from Surguja, 1592 from Sukma, 13588 from Surajpur, 4605 from Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 1885 from Sakti, 1552 from Khairgarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 955 from Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, 1654 from Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, 16656 applications were filled from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.
